Court Postpones Trial against Wounded Bulgarian Mobster
The Sofia Appellate Court has once against postponed the trial against alleged high-profile mobster Zlatomir Ivanov aka ‘The Beret.”
The defendant, who was shot earlier this year, could not appear in court Tuesday due to ill health, local media inform.
The court hearing has been postponed for January 28, 2014.
On January 29, 2013, Ivanov was shot in broad daylight in the vicinity of the main courthouse in the Bulgarian capital as he was going there for an appeals hearing in an illegal drugs distribution case against him.
Ivanov survived the attack and was rushed to hospital.
Zlatomir Ivanov was arrested on February 7, 2009, after he turned himself in to Bulgaria's National State Security Agency DANS. He was charged with organizing and leading an organized crime group dealing with drug distribution and murders.
In 2012, he was sentenced to 8 years of jail time.

I must admit that the Bulgarian (system) are genius in finding their way to delay cases like this .
First this mobster let him shot proberly by one of his own gangsters en after that find his way to delay the court case for almost a year by being ill or what ever nonsence.
This guy is sentenced to 8 year jail and should be there, not outside
One big publicity stunt
Ha ha. No doubt there are many who would like to takeout Ivanov permanently; but he was shot in broad daylight on the steps of the Court House, whilst heavily surrounded by police guards and journalists and reporters. And no-one saw anything? No leads and nothing has been reported or speculated on this? The silence is deafening.
