Novinite Poll: Bulgarian Agri-Land Should be Available to Foreigners
Bulgaria's restriction on agricultural land sale to foreigners should be lifted, believe 60% of Novinite.com readers who voted in the poll.
The second biggest group of readers, at 26%, are those who believe the ban should remain.
Another 14% of the online voters think the ban should be extended until Bulgaria's agricultural land prices become more competitive with the rest of Europe.
Officially, after January 1, 2014, foreigners will be able to acquire agricultural land.

Tanya - one day you are bad mouthing the commies the next acting like one. Get your house in order babe, you're either a) not the brightest light in the sky or b) bipolar.
Bg's been selling land to EU companies/people since 2007, the law will now allow 3rd country nationals to buy. By simple reasoning EU companies/private persons would be more inclined to buy the land to export to the common market. And non of the nonsense you hysterically describe has taken place in the past 7 years!!!!!!
Time for the little blue pill!
How stupid and short sighted. Who was the "bright spark" that thought that this would be a good idea? BG is such a small country in land mass and in land suitable for agriculture. So selling it off in "large" parcels to foreigners is just a suicide mission. Once it's gone, that's it, it's gone forever! Who will feed the Bulgarians when you realise that you don't have any land left for producing your own food? You will only just have to buy it from elsewhere at inflated prices and thus making food even more unaffordable. Unbelievable stupidity continues to manifest in BG.
