Profits in Bulgaria's coast tourism sector for summer period of 2013 are lower than expected, causing disappointment among investors in the sector, according to a report.

The decreasing rates of tourists visiting Bulgaria’s shore and the interest of mostly poor foreigners in the country have resulted in lower incomes for the tourism business, profit.bg says.

The number of tourists who have visited Bulgaria's Black Sea coast during the summer of 2013 increased by only 5% comparing it to last year's.

The development of cultural tourism and more coordinated efforts of the over 180 non-governmental organizations in the sector are options for attracting more tourists to Bulgaria's summer coast resorts.
