France to Wait for US, UN before Striking Syria
France will wait for the vote in the US Congress and the report of the UN investigative mission before deciding on whether to launch a military intervention in Syria, said French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius,
According to Fabius, who spoke for the France 3 TV channel, France's President Francois Hollande will declare his decision on Syria "only after receiving all evidence."
At the same time, the French top diplomat stressed that his government "does not doubt" that the regime of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad had employed chemical weapons in the ongoing conflict in Syria.
"The international community cannot stay idle," stated Fabius.
According to him, such inaction would embolden authorities in Syria, as well as those in "countries like Iran or North Korea" to use chemical weapons on civilians.
