Bulgaria does not rule out closing its border with Turkey in case of an emergency refugee situation, according to Bulgarian Defense Minister Anegel Naydenov.
However, Naydenov noted that the suffering of the refugees should be taken into consideration before this measure can be introduced.
He told the 24 Chasa daily that Bulgaria’s capacity to receive Syrian refugees has not been reached yet, as they are currently a total of 1 400 Syrian refugees in the country.
The Defense Minister reiterated that the country is seeking to allocate more facilities to the accommodation of refugees, with the buildings of former military barracks currently being inspected to see if they can be converted into temporary accommodation facilities.
Naydenov said he does not believe Syrian missiles can potentially reach Bulgarian territory.
“Bulgaria’s air defense should not be underestimated, either,” he said.
@ T. Oz,
Pantudi is out, enter Dr. Sigmund, who says:
Dorothy (Oz), Alice (Wonderland) and Tanya (SNA Forum):
(a) Are adventurous girls
(b) Meet all kinds of weird characters
(c) Are in a dream
(d) Want to go back home
Pantudi: a sense of humour is essential in this crazy and beautiful world. In answer to your question; probably both :)
I value your sense of humo(u)r. Do you live down under or in wonderland? Cheers, P.
Pantudi: Lol, oakey doakey!
@ T. Oz,
Lighten up! I would be happy to extend the champagne/caviar dinner invitation to you or any other amusing SNA forum member. And no, I don't expect my dining companion to become Mrs. Pantudi for a night :)
Now I'm not quite sure. Would someone please correct or enlighten me. Can BG or any EU country close their borders to anyone, independent of EU approval?
Aleksandrei, don't point the finger at me, you put it out there. This is "merely" a forum, not a pickup joint.

....and I don't reply to "конченый педераст" (~"straight-faced faggot liar").

Whether you think, or indeed exist, is a matter of no importance to us, Dear Sushi - try to bear that in mind next time you stand on a window-ledge....

It's merely impolite to interfere into the others' dialogue, Tanya OZ. What You "really" want or don't want to know, it's out of my interest. Try to reciprocate...
Sa-sha, too much information; I really don't want to know all your peccadillos.

Don't worry, Pan - good ole Slutty lives in Cloud Cuckoo Land, not Sofia.....

Dushechka-Pantushechka, You put me in an awkward position...:-)....too far from the topic; and then: I greatly fear the shock of being seduced by You, Madame Pantudi (or Stoyanka Mutafova?;-), will be too great for me, innocent, to bear ;-).
Tania. Not sure if I am correct but as Turkey is not an EU member/partner, I think we can close the border. I am happy to be corrected as I know I am not terribly clever....but I can lift HEAVYYYYYY weights!
I think this would be pragmatic. Unlike western europe we cannot afford to look after the indigenous poor!
