Firefighters Battle Wildfires in SE Bulgaria
Bulgarian firefighters have managed to quench two sizeable wildfires in Bulgaria's southeast, and have contained a larger third one.
The two already extinguished fires were near the towns of Ivaylovgrad and Elhovo, and damagaded a total of 25 acres of agricultural land and 30 acres of forests.
The third wildfire, blazing nearby Svilengrad near the border with Turkey, has an area of some 370 acres, and is burning over woodland.
Firefighting authorities have repeated their caution towards citizens in the hot and dry season, where the start of fires due to human negligence is not unlikely.
