Nationalist Chief: Bulgaria, Russia Are Like Father and Son
The relationship between Bulgaria and Russia must be like the one between a father and a son in which Bulgaria is the father, says nationalist leader, Volen Siderov.
Siderov spoke Saturday, after walking on foot (the only political party leader to do so) to the Shipka peak in Stara Planina to attend the official ceremony marking the 136th anniversary of the heroic Shipka Pass Battle during the 1877-1878 Liberation War.
The nationalist blasted those whom he labeled "neo-democrats" for attending universities in the Soviet Union and later snubbing Russia and professing anti-Russian attitude.
"Bulgaria is the father of Russia because we created Russian alphabet, culture and religion. For this reason I cannot have a negative attitude towards Russia, as a parent cannot hate their offspring," said Siderov.
He declared his party "Ataka" and himself as its leader were always present at places and ceremonies related to Bulgarian history, adding he found it strange the leaders of the other parliamentary represented parties – the opposition, formerly-ruling centrist Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, the left-wing Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, and the liberal, predominantly ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms – did not attend the Shipka event.
"Boyko Borisov, Sergey Stanishev, and Lyutvi Mestan are nowhere to be seen. The leaders of other parties pretending to be patriotic ones such as VMRO and the National Front for Salvation of Bulgaria, NFSB, are also missing. They stir huge noise when they must attack my party, but when they have to walk 999 steps as I did to talk to people, no one can find them. I come here without security guards; I do not go on the official stage as I prefer to be among the common people," Siderov stressed.
He noted that the Municipal Administration of the city of Gabrovo failed to mention Ataka in the list of political parties that laid wreaths and flowers, but explained he was used to such tricks.
Siderov stated that Bulgarian volunteer soldiers fought on Shipka against the Ottoman army to preserve their faith and religion and prevent fellow country people from "bowing to the crescent."
"This shy attitude towards Russia in recent years is the result hypocrisy and brownnosing regarding American ambitions for geopolitical hegemony," the nationalist leader concluded.

The other way around I think. Russia is better known internationally, has more power, is bigger and, in years gone by, has helped Bulgaria back to her feet, all the things a Father is in comparison with an offspring. Bulgaria has still to find her full potential, has still to grow up and find her place in the 21st century.
So what is your problem with what I said?
Kyril and Methodi were Greeks; the Orthodox church was Greek. So the Greeks civilised the Bulgarians and in turn the Bulgarians did their best, unsuccessfully, to civilise the Russkis.
Alphabet was good, Imaginary Friend in the sky more of a red herring...
But a bigger idiot than Siderov, is Seedy.

No what I am saying is that we should restart the Kozludy nuclear reactors we just shut down, there was nothing wrong with them (and the only reason we shut them down is because EU said so), that will make us self-sufficient in energy. Also it doesn't make sense we wanted to build a new nuclear power station while at the same time we wanted to shut down our old power station in the end we got halfway in completing Belene (on a seismically active, potentially dangerous region) before we gave up and nearly shut down our old power station, REALLY!!! WTF!!!.
What we should do next is nationalize our industries and retake what the Mafia and Corporations took from us, so we can rebuild our country. As a matter of fact what got us into this mess was the decision to privatize i.e. give away at a low price our key industries, our only sources of export income to foreign (and a few local) oligarchs so they can add new Lamborghinis to their expensive car collection and so they can put some expensive gold and marble in their bath tubs. Now if the EU will prevent us from doing the above, i.e. prevent us from working in our own interests then there is no other option other than to say FU to the EU and NATO.
Polarized people like you are the worst, you only see things as either Black or White, i.e. you either cut off your arms or legs, you either blind or deaf. Out goals is to do what works best for us, if the EU doesn't allow us to that then the EU isn't for us, if Russia doesn't allow us to that then Russia isn't for us either.
So you reckon that in order to spite our face (NATO/EU) we should cut off our nose (let the Commies build the new Belene so they can pocket all the cash that Sergay And Ahmed promised them a few years ago)? And THAT will make us self-sufficient in energy and we can all be toasty on the cheap come the winter....? Dream on, my friend!
Accusations? Was Solomon Passy Bulgaria and better yet does any government in Bulgaria act in the people of Bulgaria's interests and even better does anyone from NATO and the EU have nay serious complaints other than the usual "oh no!!!! 27 million Bulgarians and Romanians will end up in the UK oh no no they will turn into a slum blah blah", or this other usual "It is unacceptable how discriminated the Roma are, how badly they are treated, how poor they are, how evil and racist the Bulgarians are, we need to put a stop to this they need free housing, free social benefits for all of their 20 children, if they piss on war memorials its their freedom of expression and they are free to do just that", but when these Roma all of a sudden end up in France, Germany and the UK and end up in the UK "this unacceptable hooliganism, they need to be fined, arrested and deported". Why the f*ck is Bulgaria in these organizations, before Bulgaria became a member of the EU, it had a nuclear power station and was self-sufficient in producing energy, now it doesn't have the power station it used to have and energy bills have obviously skyrocketed.
Well the guy who brought Bulgaria into NATO was a Jew (Solomon Passy), he was probably following his instructions to make Bulgaria part of NATO so they can't be allies with Russia, which of course goes against the interests of the people, however the people were led to believe NATO membership would prevent an attack by Turkey and prevent them from ending up like Cyprus however I'm not so sure now.
I wouldn't be surprised tomorrow if NATO supports and invasion of Bulgaria by Turkey, they have always shown they favor Turkey when it comes to geopolitics, Turkey is always right, always the victim, Bulgaria, Greece and Armenia always the evil villains who conspire to murder the Pope and then tried to frame "innocent" angel Turkey. Why the f*ck is Bulgaria in this organization again.
Currently there are 87,207 NATO Troops in Afghanistan of these 416 are Bulgarian.
Most of the 87,207 are from the US and UK and Bulgaria's contribution is significant given the size of Bulgaria. (France only contributes 266 Troops.
So in my view Bulgaria is significantly contributing to NATO.
I find comments about Bulgaria not contributing to NATO offensive because they are untrue and Bulgarian soldiers have their lives on the line. This must not be forgotten.
