Bulgarian Border Police Detain 54 Illegal Immigrants in 24 Hrs

Over the past 24 hours, border police have detained 54 illegal immigrants at the Bulgarian-Turkish border.
On the territory of the southeastern village of Matochina, border police detained a man without identification documents claiming to be a Palestinian, according to reports of the Interior Ministry.
On the territory of the southeastern village of Valcha Polyana, border patrols detained 14 people without ID documents claiming to be Palestinian and Syrian nationals.
On the territory of the southeastern village of Lesovo, Bulgarian border police officers detained an unspecified number of Turkish nationals.
On the territory of the southeastern village of Golyam Dervent, border police detained five people without identification documents claiming to be Iraqi nationals.

The adults were accommodated at the temporary accommodation facility of the Regional Border Police Directorate in Elhovo, while the mothers and the children were accommodated at specially-equipped facilities.
Meanwhile, at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing point, Bulgarian border police detained three people, citizens of Ecuador, Syria, and Germany, who were accommodated at the temporary accommodation facility of the Regional Border Police Directorate in Svilengrad.
