Bulgaria should be more careful with linking organizations to the 2012 Burgas bus bombing, according to Bulgarian intelligence services director Gen. Kircho Kirov.

In an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio Saturday, Kirov was critical of new Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Minister Kristian Vigenin's recent statement that Hezbollah might not be implicated in the terrorist act.

"Minister Vigenin shouldn't have chosen to single out the Hezbollah topic as key priority in one of his first statements," said the intelligence head.

"All the more that there are probably no significant new developments since in Feburary former Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov said there is are "reasonable grounds" to believe that Hezbollah's military wing was behind the attack," added he.

Later this week, Vigenin tried to dispel the impression that Bulgaria has changed its stance on the status of the investigation of the bombing, which claimed the lives of 5 Israeli tourists, their Bulgarian bus driver, and a presumed suicide bomber.

At the same time, Gen. Kirov was also critical of the official stance of Israel, which right after the attack directly pointed a finger at Hezbollah.

"The reasonable question arises - if in Israel they have conclusive evidence in their possession, then why didn't they share it with our services?" said Kirov.

"It is obvious that at this moment no one has objective and final proofs for the participation of some organization in this act," added he.

The Bulgarian intelligence director described the Hezbollah scenario as "one of the leading hypotheses" in the case, but warned that it is "the most politically charged" one.
