Amidst escalating political turmoil in Bulgaria, the prospect of snap elections looms large, with Bulgarian Socialist Party leader Kornelia Ninova delivering scathing remarks on Tuesday
Mladen Chervenyakov, MP of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), has presented a bill on developing northwestern Bulgaria, the poorest EU region.
Chervenyakov, as cited by the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, announced Thursday in Montana that the bill was to be discussed with Mps from the districts of Vidin, Vratsa, and Montana, and to be put to a vote.
He made clear that the bill provided for the creation of important state bodies in the three northwestern districts, as well as tax incentives aimed at boosting business and attracting investments.
Chervenyakov specified that the bill could be adopted within a period of 6 months to 1 year.
He added that BSP had also proposed the creation of a special Northwest Bulgaria Agency aimed at overcoming the slowdown in the social and economic development of the region .
