Bulgaria’s newly sworn-in Defense Minister has spoken in favor of reintroducing military training classes in high schools.

Defense Minister Angel Naydenov told Nova TV on Saturday that the military training classes would prepare high school students to react in crisis situations.

He noted that his Socialist-led government has no intention of reinstating the obligatory military draft in the country.

Males born in 1985 were the last ones subjected to the obligatory draft in Bulgaria, which was then replaced with a professional army.
