Bulgarian PM nominee Plamen Oresharski's cabinet proposal is inept and dangerous for the country, according to previous Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov.

"After we saw this so-called expert cabinet, we realized that it would have been laughable, if it was not so dangerous for Bulgaria," said Borisov Tuesday after a sitting of his GERB party parliamentary group.

The former PM confirmed that none of the GERB MPs is ready to back the cabinet and that they will not register for Wednesday's vote in parliament.

Rival Bulgarian Socialist Party received a cabinet formation mandate after it turned out that GERB will not gather the sufficient parliamentary support.

However, soon after Oresharski announced the composition of his cabinet proposal Monday evening, allegations started regarding questionable ties of his candidates, with a protest already scheduled in Sofia Tuesday evening.

Borisov's announcement that the GERB political group will formally stay out of Wednesday's plenary vote threatens the achievement of a quorum for the sitting.

Third parliamentary party, the liberal Movement for Rights and Freedoms, has already committed to backing the Socialists' proposal.

Fourth parliamentary party Ataka have said that they will take their decision on the Oresharski proposal later Tuesday evening.

In the 240-seat Bulgarian Parliament, GERB has 97 MPs, the Socialists - 84, the Movement - 36, and Ataka - 27.

According to Art. 81 of the Bulgarian Constituion, Parliament can hold sittings and take decisions if more than half - or at least 121 - of its members are present.

This means that if both GERB and Ataka chose not to register, Parliament will be blocked.
