Winter Tourism: 1.8 Million Visit Bulgaria
Bulgaria has witnessed a bustling winter tourism season, with a total of 1.8 million tourists gracing its picturesque landscapes from December 1 to March 25
Bulgaria has ranked second in the European Union by the slump of income in 2010, according to Eurostat, the EU's statistical office.

Ireland leads the negative ranking with 9.7%, followed by Bulgaria with 6.6% (on the base of average annual household income of BGN 5 674), Latvia with 6.1%.
Spain showed a 5.8% decrease, (on the base of average annual household income of EUR 12 500), Estonia - 4.4%, Portugal – 4.1% (on the base of average annual household income of EUR 8 500), France – 2% (on the base of average annual household income of EUR 20 000), and Italy – 1.4% (on the base of average annual household income of EUR 16 000).
According to national statistics data, in Bulgaria salaries are the main source of income – 55% of it, followed by retirement pensions – 26.4%.
The biggest expenses are for food and utility bills – about half of the monthly income.
