Bulgaria has decided to renew its investigation into the wreckage of the Hera ship, , which sank in 2014 with 17 Bulgarians onboard near the Bosphorus strait.

Thся was announced by Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov on Tuesday.

He revealed that Turkey has agreed to assist in the operation, providing underwater divers. The shipwreck occurred in Turkish territorial waters.

The Cambodian-flagged ship sank on February 13, 2004 with 20 sailors aboard.

About a month after the tragedy, the bodies of five sailors, three Bulgarians and two Ukrainians, were retrieved.
