Star marathon swimmer Petar Stoychev, who was appointed Sports Minister in Bulgaria's caretaker government, has presented his team – legendary gymnast Yordan Yovchev, former national basketball team player Ivan Tsenov, and Vanya Karaganeva, expert and Chief of Staff.

Stoychev presented his two deputies and Chief of Staff at a press conference on Friday at the Ministry of Physical Education and Sports headquarters in Sofia.

Bulgaria's caretaker Sports Minister made clear that he would quit his competitive career due to the new post.

Yovchev is a four-times world champion and the first ever male gymnast to compete in six Olympic Games. He is President of the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation.

Tsenov was Deputy Sports Minister in the GERB government.

Vanya Karageneva, who takes over as chief of staff for the Ministry of Physical Education and Sports, has extensive administrative experience.

The center-right government of PM Boyko Borisov resigned amid massive anti-poverty protests on February 20.

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev announced a caretaker cabinet on March 12 and the early elections in the country have been scheduled for May 12.
