Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Buenos Aires is the new Pope.
The Argentinean cardinal has been elected to replace Benedict XVI as the spiritual leader of the world's 1.2 billion Catholics.
Cardinal Bergoglio has chosen the name Pope Francis I, according to reports of the BBC News.
The name of the 266th pope in the Catholic Church's 2,000-year history was announced by French Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran.
