Bulgarian ethnic Turkish party leader Lyutvi Mestan has slammed the country's newly announced caretaker Cabinet, stating that it has close ties with the centrist-right GERB government, which resigned in February.

"Everything suggests that the caretaker Cabinet is a Cabinet of Boyko Borisov's Deputy Ministers," Mestan told reporters on Tuesday, referring to the country's outgoing Prime Minister.

Mestan noted that caretaker Prime Minister Marin Raykov is a former deputy Foreign Minister in the governments of Prime Minister Ivan Kostov (1997-2001) and Borisov (2009-2013).

The leader of the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms party also claimed that caretaker Interior Minister Petya Parvanova was affiliated with GERB.

The caretaker government was appointed by President Rosen Plevneliev on Tuesday. It will remain in power until the May 12 elections.

Did he expect Ahmed Dogan to be asked for PM? I bet even then he would have called it a GERB government.

What a clown this Mestan is. He is given the opportunity to form a caretaker government and instead of serving his country (although that is debatable given he represents ethnic Turks) he turns it down then reverts to type and carps from the sidelines. Pathetic. Its a shame that the Commies and Turks are so good at mobilizing their electorate (financial and other incentives, free transport etc) and the rest of the Bulgarian electorate are so disenfranchised and lazy to vote.

What is he so worried about? After all it is only a caretaker government until the elections in afew weeks.

How about all these politicians and the parties stop moaning and whingeing and get on with the real job, of telling the people what their pollicies are, in order to win the election of the next government.

Unfortunately their policies consist simply of moaning and whinging about the other parties, and then stealing whatever pies they can stick their fat fingers into when they get into government.
