Former Bulgarian European Commissioner and current party leader Meglena Kuneva has promised to bring change to the country ahead of the upcoming snap elections.
"We are convinced that we can change Bulgaria, we have the potential to do that, we have the experts, we have the policies," Kuneva told a national gathering of her party, Bulgaria for Citizens, on Saturday.
Kuneva noted that Bulgaria for Citizens has been the target of verbal "attacks" recently, which, she believes, means that the party is a "serious political factor."
The former European Commissioner outlined several of her party's key political priorities. She said it will attempt to stabilize the institutions of democracy, encourage entrepreneurship and improve healthcare and education.
Last month, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and his center-right GERB government resigned amidst massive protests against high utility bills, corruption and poverty.
Snap elections are to take place on May 12.
