Years of mismanagement and abuse of power has led many Bulgarians to rally for radically left measures, argued opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party MP Yanaki Stoilov.

Thursday the Bulgarian Parliament is holding a debate and vote on the surprise resignation of the cabinet of PM Boyko Borisov, amid massive protests triggered by economic stagnation.

In his speech, Stoilov rejected calls for a Grand National Assembly, saying they supplant the calls of protesters and create conditions favorable for pushing the interests of the oligarchy.

"We vow for radically leftist policies, which are now in line with the most pressing interests in Bulgaria," stated the socialist MP.

Stoilov argued for swift action to revive the economy, as well as for a heightened social responsibility of policies and greater control of economic actors.

In his speech, rightist Democrats for Strong Bulgaria leader and former PM Ivan Kostov also called for greater regulation and strenghtening of state institutions.
