Cyber Attack Floods again Bulgarian Whistleblowing Site: Cyber Attack Floods again Bulgarian Whistleblowing Site
The site for investigative journalism Bivol is down again Friday over a flooding attack.

The independent site for investigative journalism Bivol.bg which published formerly classified documents, revealing that Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, has been a person of interest for the anti-mafia police in the 90s, became subject of a second "flooding" attack.

Bivol reported on their official Facebook page that two days ago their site has been flooded by tens of thousands of viewer requests, which had blocked access and brought the site down. They then reported and countered the attack with Denial of Service DoS. After that, the site has been back in operation, though running slower than usual.

On Wednesday, Bivol have intercepted an abnormally high number of connections from anonine.com.

On Friday, the site has been once again flooded by a large number of connections from another IP of the same anonine.com.

Bivol inform their next step would be to change the host, ask a Swedish company for assistance, and notify the authorities. They note donations from readers to improve the hosting would be welcomed.

After the first attack, one of the owners and editors of the site, journalist Assen Yordanov, told the Bulgarian news agency BGNES that Bivol has been attacked for over an hour by a very powerful, unknown site - anonine.com. The latter has generated tens of thousands of viewer requests, which had blocked access and brought the site down.

Yordanov assuaged the database has not been affected and the publications were intact.

"There is no doubt this is connected with the upcoming release of new documents from the Buddha file. We have also received quite a few threats, including anonymous ones, and phone calls with silence on the other end of the line," said he.

Since Sunday, Bivol published several documents revealing that in the 90s Borisov has caught the attention of the anti-mafia police over his alleged ties with the underworld.

The documents date from February, 1997, and December, 1996.

The documents have leaked anonymously through Bivol's platform Balkanleaks, which is modeled after the famous WikiLeaks, and have been revealed for the very first time.

Because of the anonymous platform, the journalists have no way of finding out where the documents came from and/or who has sent them.

Message to the perpetrators of these cyber attacks.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
All you are doing in carrying out these attacks is to reinforce the disclosures of Bivatol. If their claims were not accurate you would use legal methods to shut them up, any "illegal" move (such as what is happening currently, or violence etc) only tells the rest of us that the claims are correct.

Message to Bivatol

Carry on the good work you now have the support of all the public who want truth, honesty, and true justice.

Seedy, expand your argument please. Don't call me naive without justifying your comment.
