Huge potholes have appeared in the "Romanian section" of the so called "Danube Bridge" linking Bulgaria's Ruse and Romania's Giurgiu.
The Romanian state has applied for EU funding for a rehabilitation project but it has not been approved yet, the Ruse correspondent of the BGNES news agency reported Friday.
The report states that the "craters" in the Bulgarian-Romanian Danube Bridge "are forcing drivers to zig-zag", with entire sections of the bridge being "insurmountable" with broken auto parts piling on the side of the road. The situation is said to be really bad after rain or snow melting.
BGNES notes further that the Romanian authorities have already provided road rehabilitation equipment which is left near the bridge but cannot be used to fix the worst potholes because of the weather.
Romanian officials from the Danube Bridge border crossing point are quoted as saying that some parts of the bridge lack sufficient lights as a result of failures caused by moisture.
The Bulgarian section of the joint Danube bridge is said to be in a somewhat better condition attributed to its rehabilitation back in 2011; however, it is also reported to have started seeing potholes that are dangerous to the drivers.

Some constructive criticism.
The so called author of this so called article should study their so called prose and learn what the so called phrase, 'so called' actually means. Otherwise they will continue to be a so called laughing stock.
Plain English is more than adequate, dropping in a 'so called' in the wrong place just makes the article grate and be harder to parse.
For example:-
"Huge potholes have appeared in the Romanian section of the bridge linking Bulgaria's Ruse and Romania's Giurgiu."
You could refer to the bridge by its name if you so wished:-
"Huge potholes have appeared in the Romanian section of the Friendship Bridge, linking Bulgaria's Ruse and Romania's Giurgiu."
Or even:-
"Huge potholes have appeared in the Romanian section of the Danube Bridge linking Bulgaria's Ruse and Romania's Giurgiu."
Note the lack of "so called" in the examples, it's unneeded and just doesn't work contextually in this sentence or most of the other articles on Novinite that it appears in.

Justified criticism is always welcome (we are horified too with the legendary incompetence of Giurgiu county and Giurgiu town officials) but strong catastrophic words (craters, huge etc) tend to make the title and the article a bit malitious which I dont think is necesarily friendly nor deserving taking in consideration that part of the Ruse boom was due to Bucharest shoppers and other Romanians registering their cars or businesses there due to low taxing (I dont recall reading Romanian news comparing the quality of the roads betwin the two countries which was pretty visible last time I traveled there in 2009 but probably things changed there and now they are impecable and we lag behind)
