Bulgaria: Bulgarian PM Visit to US Is Missed Opportunity - Ex-FM
Solomon Passy. BGNES

Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov has failed to achieve any significant results for his country during his ongoing visit to the US, according to former Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Minister Solomon Passy.

"Borisov's meeting with US President Barack Obama and other leaders just means many missed opportunities for Bulgaria," said Passy Tuesday.

The former Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that Bulgarian leaders failed to achieve progress on lifting the US visa regime, to gather US help in Bulgaria's Schengen bid, and to propose a major joint strategic project with the US.

"The fact that Bulgaria has been America's ally in five wars during the last 23 years is a huge investment that has been left unused," argued Passy.

He did not specify which those "five wars" were.

According to Passy, it would be "only natural" if Bulgaria is in fact a good ally to the US, that the US liberalize entry for Bulgarian citizens and offer support for Bulgaria's Schengen accession.

Tuesday Party of European Socialists and Bulgarian Socialist Party leader Sergey Stanishev also criticized the US visit of Bulgarian PM Borisov as having achieved no palpable results.

USA? Who cares about them? The sun is strong in the east.

USA!
Oh, come on. Bulgarians will always side with Russia, its natural ally. This US relationship, with Nato and friends is only temporary until Russia gets fully back on its feet, and offers a new economic block away from the bankrupt western nations. Passy lives in dreams. He is America's guy in Bugaria, not our guy.

THe former FM
And by the way, why is Novinite always talking about this guy Passy? This is the same guy as always with ideas to make internet constitutional rights and lobbying to make hotel room phones with standard numbers. No one in the world champions such important causes as he :))))))) Let's report real news!

Who cares for USA ... ummm the world I guess. Yane you are irrelevant and annoying, a product of a failed country and a f*&ckwitt. I've seen some of your previous comments... you are a commie, or ataka fan, russophile and bulgarophobe. You don't represent the majority of the Bulgarians, the great number of Bulgarian people like US and want strong connections.

USA!
Bulgaria will never side with Russia again. In both world wars we were against it, against the Russian imperialism and during the second against the Bolsheviks... We used to deal with people like you before 9/9/45 and shell deal you again pretty soon...I cannot wait for a second low for protection pf the state from commie and pro-russkie terrorists.

"Bulgaria will never side with Russia again"---never say "never", "In both world wars we were against it [Russia]"---not people but rulers were "against" (and even those rulers were sooner forced than eager
to be against).........as for all other "jordisms" ("Russian imperialism", " protection pf the state from commie and pro-russkie terrorists", etc),
they are sooner for the mental hospital, as well as their author.

Oh come on, the point is that Bulgaria natural friends are the felow slavic countries, from Serbia, to Poland to Russia....etc, etc. Buglarians have nothing in common with USA, and they are far from our borders. Business and civilization are moving east fast, and no need to look west. And to be pro-Russia has nothing to do with being communist, as communism is dead in Russia and the other former East bloc nations of Europe. Passy only purpose in Bulgaria is to promote and represent the USA. His views are so far from reality or Bulgarian public opinion, i have no idea why Novinite bothers to quote him.

Jordy what you say can be copy-pasted to anything an American republican chauvinist would say, nobody would see a difference, because there is none. You are probably some annoying yank whose company does business in Bulgaria and that's why you come here waving your cold-war ghosts n propaganda like a drunk idiot.
