Thousands of Syrians, some of them injured, have fled into Turkey since Thursday as chaos and terror reign in the border areas, CNN reported, citing Turkish officials.

More than 8,000 Syrians have entered neighboring Turkey since Thursday, a Turkish foreign ministry official told CNN on Friday on condition of anonymity.

Of the thousands of refugees, 71 were injured, the official said. Two died of their wounds.

Most of the Syrians were sent to a Turkish camp in Akcakale town.

Before the new arrivals, the Turkish government had said it is hosting more than 111,000 Syrian refugees.

The clashes between Syrian government troops and opposition fighters occurred in the Ras Al Ain border town.

A day earlier Syrian President Bashar al-Assad made it clear he has no intention to stop the gruesome civil war or leave the country, shooting down the offer of safe passage a few countries have offered.

"I'm not a puppet, and I was not made by the West to go to the West or to any other country," he told Russia Today TV in an interview broadcast Thursday. "I am Syrian. I was made in Syria and to live and die in Syria."

Various factions of opposition fighters said they are forming a more united front to boost their quest to oust al-Assad.

The international community has constantly pressured the disparate armed fighters to unite.

Look, Novinite, Your "The international community has constantly pressured the disparate armed fighters to unite" means:"A bunch ofcannibals (i.e. Leaders of Western "democracies", of "Free & a Democratic world", "anti-Mass Murderers" and all other delirium of the kind, plus Leaders of Arab gerontologies/Monarchies, plus world mass media) pressure bloody thugs('rebels'-mercenaries- instructors) to kill more and more and more...Look at Irak, Libya, Egypt right now, isn't it enough to get the simpliest idea: Your interference brings death, chaos, blood, sufferings, nothing else. Still You continue. And being supported/guided/encouraged by You, those bloody thugs "rebels" kill and frighten civilians openly (before they denied their crimes at least, they felt "shy"). And why to feel shy now, really, when the "beacons"of the "Free[of a common sense and consience] and Democratic [a special form of cannibalism] World" openly offer to push for an end of the EU arms embargo...To hell International laws, to hell common sense, to hell human lives and destinies... Long live, Democratic Cannibalism!
