Turkey's government has strongly advised Italian company ENI against exploring for natural gas off the coast of the divided island of Cyprus.
Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz has even gone as far as saying Turkey might revise its business relations with the company.
"We will reconsider ENI's investments in Turkey if the company takes part in such plans," said Yildiz as quoted by the Hurriyet daily.
Turkey Cyprus announced that it will negotiate with ENI and Korean KOGAS to explore for oil and natural gas off its coast in the Mediterranean.
