The unemployment rate in September was 10.6%, down by 0.1% month on month, according to data of Bulgaria's Employment Agency, which keeps track of the number of unemployed registered at Labor Offices.

According to data of Eurostat, the unemployment rate in Bulgaria in August 2012 was 12.5%.

According to statistics of the Employment Agency, a total of 349 409 people declared they were unemployed in September, down by 2097 month on month.

At the same time, a total of 23 876 people found jobs in September, up by 3804 month on month and up by 6000 year on year.

In September 2012, companies declared a total of 12505 vacancies, up by 1321 from August.

The highest number of vacancies were opened in the spheres of administrative and auxiliary activities (2882), followed by education (2248), the processing industry (2133), trade (1330) and construction (635).
