Bulgaria's second largest Orthodox cathedral, the Danube town of Vidin's "St. Martyr Dimitar", is in urgent need of repair, as part of it may otherwise collapse, according to local media.
Archimandrite Polycarp of the Vidin Bishopric has told the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency that six of the church's nine domes are badly cracked, with two of them facing collapse.
The church was constructed approximately 120 years ago but it is yet to undergo a major overhaul.
Local authorities have restricted the access to the most dangerous parts of the church. Discussions have been launched on whether it should be closed for visitors.
The cathedral church "St. Martyr Dimitar" is the second biggest in the country after the church-monument "St. Alexander Nevski" in Sofia.
