Two Mi-17 helicopters of the Bulgarian Air Force have been dispatched to put out a wildfire in Southwestern Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian Air Force had just completed its participation in the extinguishing of a wildfire near the Black Sea towns of Nessebar and Pomorie.

They have now been sent off to tackle a wildfire near the village of Pastra, Kyustendil District, Rila Municipality.

The helicopters are using water from micro-reservoirs in the Rila Mountain.

Since the beginning of August, Bulgaria has seen more than 1000 wildfires, some of them large-scale ones.
