Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has suggested that the country's Foreign Ministry should move to the so called so called National Army Complex building in downtown Sofia, according to local media reports.
The current premises housing the ministry will be used by the largest court in the country, the Sofia District Court, the reports say.
It is unclear whether Borisov's idea has been discussed with Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov, since Mladenov is currently in hospital with a leg injury he sustained while diving.
The National Army Complex project ran into disrepute as since 2008-2009 the Defense Ministry ran out of funds for its construction. Though not fully completed, it was put on sale for BGN 100 M by former Defense Minister Nikolay Tsonev in 2008 but no investors showed any interest.
Bulgaria has so far poured some BGN 32 M into the unused Army Complex building, with BGN 10 M more expected to be necessary for its completion.
