World Champ Zlateva of Bulgaria Scores First Tough Victory

Sports » LONDON 2012 | August 9, 2012, Thursday // 16:25

Bulgaria's Stanka Zlateva, a five-time world wrestling champion, defeated world bronze medalist Vasilisa Marzaliuk of Belarus in a tough opening match up.

In 72 kilograms, Stanka Zlateva won against Marzaliuk 2:0.

Hristova, who has never won Olympic gold, will attempt to redeem herself for the disappointment she suffered four years ago in Beijing when she settled for silver.

In the 1/8 finals she will face Jenny Fransson, who scored a surprising victory over  Ali Sue Bernard of the U.S.
