Bulgaria's young men's volleyball team made some impressive display on Tuesday, as it defeated gold medal favorite Poland 3-1 in a Pool A match.

Tsvetan Sokolov shone brightly for the Bulgarian team, as he scored 28 points.

The Bulgarian team proved too strong for Poland in the first two games, winning 25-22 and 29-27.

Facing a defeat, the Polish team took the initiative and closed the third set with a point difference of 25-13.

However, Bulgaria managed to hold off Poland in the fourth and final set, clinching the match on a spike by Viktor Yosifov.

Bulgaria is now 2-0 and tied for the lead in Group A. It will face Australia on Thursday with a good chance of improving to 3-0.

The Bulgarian team has been shaken lately by an acrid scandal with the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation. Popular and successful coach Radostin Stoychev and key player Matey Kaziyski quit the team after a row with federation bosses.
