"The terrorist attack that occurred on Bulgarian soil on July 18 has reminded in a gruesome way for the threats and challenges that we face as allies. I condemn such barbarian actions, and, as I mentioned to you during our conversation on July 20, the USA is ready to support your government in process of investigation of this horrific attack," Obama writes in his letter to the Bulgarian Prime Minister.
"The Bulgarian authorities under your leadership have proven their professionalism and high expertise in response to this tragic event. I would like to encourage you to continue exerting your efforts to bring justice," states further the US President.
Obama has also praised the cooperation between Bulgaria and the United States with respect to fighting terrorism.
"Our partnership is worthy of the 21st century as we not only share responsibility about our joint security but we also defend the basic values of our trans-Atlantic union," he declares.
"Bulgaria has proven itself as a reliable partner of the USA, sharing information and operational resources in combating terrorism, organized crime, and cyber crime as well as in terminating illegal drug trafficking and financial operations. Your country is a valuable member of NATO, with an important contribution to the missions of the Alliance, including in Afghanistan," Obama tells Borisov.
