Schengen Launch at Burgas Airport: Revolutionizing Travel Efficiency
A landmark moment unfolds at Burgas Airport as the first Schengen flight touches down, signaling a new era of travel efficiency and convenience for passengers
Bulgarian Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski has explained that authorities are doing their best to open Burgas Airport, which became the site of a deadly terror attack on Wednesday afternoon, before 6 p.m. on Thursday.
A bus carrying Israeli tourists exploded Wednesday afternoon at the airport of the Bulgarian resort city, killing at least seven people and wounding more than 32.
Five people died at the site of the explosion and the injured were taken to hospital.
Moskovski announced Thursday that all passengers who had been scheduled to arrive at or depart from the Burgas Airport had been serviced at the Varna Airport.
He assured that no flights had been cancelled, despite the emergency situation.
Moskovski said that all airports, ports, railway and bus stations were operating under heightened security.
He reminded, however, that the access of people greeting or seeing off visitors at the airports had been restricted, while the passengers were to appear at least two hours before flight takeoff.
