The European Commission has approved EU funding for a promotional campaign for Bulgarian and Greek wines in the USA, China, and Switzerland, the Agriculture Ministry announced.
The initiative is a joint program of Bulgaria's National Chamber of Vines and Wines and the Greek association ENOABE, and is supposed to advertise Bulgaria and Greek wines in the USA, China, and Switzerland for a period of 3 years, with a total of budget of EUR 4.6 M.
The program in question is the second program for promotion of Bulgarian wines abroad with EU money, and the seventh for the promotion of Bulgarian agricultural products abroad with EU money. Other products to be promoted include Bulgarian white cheese, kashkaval, yogurt, lyutenitsa, peppers, rose marmalade, peach compote, the Ministry of Agriculture and Foods pointed out.
Bulgaria's agricultural products are being advertised in Russia, China, Australia, Brazil, UAE, USA, Switzerland, Ukraine, Germany, Spain, Poland, and Romania, with a total of budget of EUR 25 M under EU programs.
