A Romanian woman has managed to track down and recover her purse that she lost during a trip to Bulgaria with assistance from the operators of 112, the EU emergency number, Bulgaria's Interior Ministry announced.

The Romanian woman was on an excursion to the Rila Monastery in Southwestern Bulgaria over the week, and discovered that her purse was missing only when she got back to Romania.

She called 112 late Sunday night, and told the operators about her case, and that she believed she had lost the bag in a fast-food place in the Boyana Quarter in Sofia, where her tourist group made a stop.

The Romanian operators of 112 contacted their Bulgarian colleagues; 40 minutes later, officers from the 6th police precinct in Sofia found the bad, and turned it over to the Romanian Consulate, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry informed.
