Muslim Brotherhood's Mohammed Morsi swore in as Egypt's first freely elected president at a ceremony in the Constitutional Court in Cairo Saturday.
"I swear in front of the Almighty to protect order in the Republic, to abide by the Constitution and the laws, and to be fully responsible of the people's interests," said Morsi.
The Muslim Brotherhood candidate won 51.73% of the vote in last-week's run-off election, beating former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq.
In a television address after winning the electoins, Mohammed Morsi strongly called for national unity in Egypt.
