Philipp Kirkorov Announces Newborn Son at Bulgaria Concert

Russian star pop singer Philipp Kirkorov learned that a son was born to him during a concert in Bulgarian capital Sofia Friday evening.

The artist, who was born in Bulgaria's Varna, announced news in a highly emotional statement during the show.

"I am full of emotions. This news came to me in Bulgaria, my birthplace. This must be some sign, it is mystical," said an emotional Kirkorov.

The singer however did not disclose the place of birth of his son, trying to protect him from excessive media attention, reports ITAR-TASS.

Kirkorov is currently on his DruGoy tour, promoting his latest album.

His Sofia show was warmly applauded by the 6,000-strong audience, and included even more pomp and musicianship than what is the norm in his extravagant performances.

The Russian singer performed with a number of Bulgarian musicians and composers that he has worked with in the past.

After Sofia, Kirkorov is on to Plovdiv (July 1), Burgas (July 2), and Varna (July 5).

Philipp Kirkorov was born in 1967 in Varna to an Armenian-Bulgarian father and a Russian mother.
