The right-wing Democrats for Strong Bulgaria party, DSB, demanded Saturday the resignation of Agriculture Minister, Miroslav Naydenov, over the controversial Forestry Act.

The news was reported by Stoyan Mihalev from the DSB leadership in Sofia at an emergency party press conference organized in the aftermath of Bulgaria's Parliament passing the amendments to the Forestry Act and the large-scale protests against them, shaking the capital since Wednesday evening.

The right-wing claims that Naydenov is the main culprit for the passing of the law, serving lobbyist interests. They remind that they have asked President, Rosen Plevneliev, to veto the Act as early as June 13.

Mihalev labeled the explanation of the proponents of the new law that the amendments will attract investments a lie, on grounds "such lobbyist interests chase investors away."

"The tourist sector in Bulgaria is not getting more liberal, but is rather invaded by cartels," said he.

Petar Moskov, member of DSB national leadership, pointed out that the law is a demonstration of the State serving the monopolies in the country.
