The Republic of Bulgaria's new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Slovak Republic, Margarita Ganeva, has presented her credentials to Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic.
Ambassador Ganeva and President Gasparovic emphasized that the two countries have an opportunity to deepen their co-operation, taking into account the relevant best practices of each of them in balancing the budget and the financial sector, economic development and social issues.
Ambassador Ganeva confirmed Bulgaria's interest in active co-operation with Slovakia in the framework of the EU and of the "Visegrad+" format, as cited by the Foreign Ministry press service.
The Slovak President stated his firm position that, through consolidation and future enlargement of the euro zone to include candidate countries that are disciplined and that adhere strictly to the terms and conditions for membership, there will be a guarantee of prosperity, development and social security in Europe.
Margarita Ganeva was born in 1959 in Sofia. She has graduated with a degree in economics from the Economic University in Prague, former Czechoslovakia.
She joined the Bulgarian diplomatic service in 1992. She has been part of the staff of the Bulgarian Embassies in Prague and Bratislava.
Ganeva has been temporarily in charge of the Bulgarian Embassy in Bratislava since July 2011. She speaks Slovak, Czech, Russian, and English.
