A stolen cable has disrupted communications at the Bulgarian State Agency for National Security, DANS.

The cable has been stolen around 10:30 pm Monday evening from a secret DANS facility near the village of Ivanyane, bTV reports.

Police and DANS agents are investigating the scene of the theft Tuesday. The opening of all shafts of the facility revealed that at least 20 meters of cable are missing.

DANS have officially confirmed the incident, but note that the theft was located outside the area that is secured by the Agency.

The statement stresses that all communication routes of DANS are safe and have not been disrupted. However, according to unofficial information, the theft had caused serious disruptions in these communications.
