Heavy Traffic in Bulgaria after Easter Break

Society | April 16, 2012, Monday // 17:52

The traffic on all major roads in Bulgaria is heavy, after the 4 days off for the celebration of Easter.

As usual, the traffic through checkpoints to Greece is among the heaviest, as is the traffic into capital Sofia and other main cities.

The most busy checkpoint with Greece throughout Monday has been Kulata-Promachonas, informs the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior.

Traffic on the E-79 road from the Greek border to Sofia is intense, as is traffic on the Hemus Highway from Sofia to Romania.

The Trakiya Highway linking Sofia with Plovdiv and Burgas is marking increasing traffic; the Plovdiv-Smolyan road is no exception.

Police estimate that traffic will get back to normal around noon Tuesday.
