Sergey Stanishev, president of the Party of European Socialist, has launched a campaign to curb youth unemployment in the bloc and in his home country.

"Youth unemployment is increasing in our country, it is now 29%, which is above the average for the EU," Stanishev has pointed out.

Stanishev, leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, revealed that PES will demand the European Social Fund to provide EUR 10 B in order to tackle the youth unemployment issue.

"This measure will create 1.5 million jobs for youngsters across Europe," he explained.

The left-wing campaign consists of 20 measures, it has been made clear.
