Authorities in Belgian captial Brussels have stopped traffic of all public transportation in the city after the brutal beating of a traffic inspector.

The inspector has been hospitalized with his life under severe threat after a brutal battery he received upon turning up at a traffic accident between a bus and a car.

The 56-year-old inspector was hit in the head by one of the persons in the car involved in the accident, after which he and the driver disappeared.

Agencies quote reliable sources saying that the inspector is currently clinically dead and doctors are fighting to bring him back to life.

Workers at the Brussels public transportation STIB have marched in outrage against the brutal violence directed at their colleague.
