Stability Reigns: Sofia Real Estate Market Thrives Despite Uncertain Times
The real estate sector in Sofia has shown resilience in the face of ongoing pandemic challenges, maintaining stability across all segments in the first quarter of the year
The fine for a passenger using Sofia's public transportation without paying a fare is increasing to BGN 20 from the previous BGN 10, effective Sunday, April 1.
The news was reported by the Sofia City Hall.
Also effective Sunday, the municipality is dropping some fare cards and tickets. According to the adopted by the Municipal Council changes in the ordinance for travel on public transportation, combined tickets for travel by ground transportation and subway for 60 minutes, booklets with five tickets, and fare cards that can be used on two lines will no longer be sold.
Student cards will be issued upon presenting international student identification, not just a local one. All fare cards become electronic while those that are not personalized with the passenger's name will cost more.
Cards for one public transportation line remain, but will only be issued for one month at the time.
There is also a family and a business package – the first one allows the parent to buy his child a card to be used on all public transportation vehicles for the monthly cost of BGN 10, if the parent buys such card for himself at regular price.
The business package offers annual discounts and free travel for one month for employers who purchase yearly fare cards for at least 25 workers.
