Bulgaria's Borde Police have arrested 15 illegal immigrants from Iraq and Afghanistan, the Interior Ministry announced.

The illegal Iraqis and Afghans were crossing the Greek-Bulgarian border near the village of Topolnitsa, Petrich Municipality, when they were detected by the Bulgarian border guards.

The 15 men were without any papers but told the police officers they were from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bulgaria has notified the Greek authorities at the joint border contact center at Kulata-Promachonas; the Bulgarian police are investigating the human trafficking ring in question.
