Bulgarian Navy Chief Becomes Deputy Defense Commander: Bulgarian Navy Chief Becomes Deputy Defense Commander Rear-Admiral, Plamen Manushev, who is now Navy Head, is nominated to become Bulgaria's new Deputy Defense Commander. Photo by maritime.bg

The cabinet of the ruling, center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party GERB is proposing to outgoing President, Georgi Parvanov, to appoint a new Deputy Defense Commander.

The information was reported by the government's press center.

The nominee is Rear-Admiral, Plamen Manushev - now Commander of the Navy. Manushev is to replace at the post Vice-Admiral, Minko Kavaldzhiev, who is retiring.

Manushev's Deputy, Commodore, Rumen Nikolov, on his part, is expected to become Navy Commander, and be promoted to Rear-Admiral.
