Ballot papers will be marked with special seals to prevent election forgeries during the vote on October 23, when Bulgarians will elect a new president and mayors, the election body announced.
At the beginning of the election day the chairmen of the polling sections will mark the special seal with a sharp object to be used for the marking of all ballot papers.
The ballot papers will be marked at a random place and only ballot papers with these marks will be valid.

There are fears about large-scale vote buying and manipulations in the counting of the ballots.
