Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud died in a New York hospital early on Saturday, it has been confirmed.

Crown Prince Sultan, who was believed to be in his 80s, was Saudi King Abdullah's half-brother.

"King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz mourns the death of his brother and his Crown Prince Sultan who died at dawn this morning Saturday outside the kingdom following an illness," the Saudi royal court said in a statement in Riyadh on Saturday.
