Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has said that the current Deputy Ministers of Culture and Transport, Information Technology and Communications will be removed from their posts.

"I want a faster pace of work", Borisov said on Thursday, commenting on the planned dismissal of Deputy Minister of Culture Todor Chobanov.

During a visit at at the Hagia Sophia basilika, Borisov stated that he wanted the the archaeological excavations to be over in six months so that "the world can enjoy the site."

The Prime Minister explained that Deputy Minister Parvan Rusinov, whose current portfolio is "Information Technology and Communications", would be ousted due to his failure to implement the e-government project.

"I was forced to take charge of the e-government project one month ago, although he was assigned this task two years ago", Borisov argued, adding that he expected work on the digital platform to be wrapped up in 8-10 months.

"I have said many times that people who cannot keep up with the work pace I require get replaced," the Prime Minister noted.

Borisov said Rusinov would be succeeded by Valeri Borisov.

Borisov's visit to Hagia Sophia was interrupted by nationalist leader Volen Siderov, who called on the Prime Minister to stop bowing to Turkey and to demand BGN 10 B from the country as a compensation for Bulgarians who fled Eastern Thrace (European Turkey) amidst repressions in the 1910s and 1920s.

Siderov also demanded that a memorial to those who died for the Liberation of Bulgaria be built in Stara Zagora.

Borisov refused to meet the nationalist leader and said that the talk could be carried out after the elections.
