A building's wall fell down in downtown Sofia causing damage to 7 cars early on Thursday, Bulgarian police authorities have announced.

Around 10 am local time, the wall suddenly collapsed at the intersection between the Veslets and Timok streets in downtown Sofia. Fortunately, no people have been injured.

Upon arriving at the scene, police officers have discovered that an excavator worker hired by a private company has most probably made a mistake that has caused the accident, the bTV private channel reports.

The police have closed off the area and are currently investigating. Firefighters have also arrived at the scene.

On September 19 2006, a building located in the very heart of Sofia collapsed, killing two young women. The cause was illegally and incorrectly conducted repair works.
