The unemployment level in Bulgaria is down in the month of September and stood at 9.4%, according to data of the Employment Agency.
309 971 jobless people were registered by end of September with the Labor Bureaus. 18 000 have found jobs during the same month – 42% are highly qualified; 32% have no qualifications, and 26% are blue-collar workers.
19.5% of all unemployed were under the age of 29; 58% have no qualifications; those who have been out of work for a long time are 37%, while unemployed with disabilities were 4.4% of the labor market.
3 191 employed people, 2 173 retirees and 756 students have registered as seeking additional work.
The Agency data further shows that 53% of those who lost their jobs in September (16 320 people) came from the private sector, especially where jobs are seasonal such as hotel, restaurant and retail workers.
The job openings in September were 12 896 – with 1 875 more compared to August.
